Enter cycling distance and time to get average speed in km/h and mph.
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
| 40 km in 80 min | 30.00 km/h · 18.64 mph |
| 100 km in 180 min | 33.33 km/h · 20.71 mph |
| 20 km in 45 min | 26.67 km/h · 16.57 mph |
Casual riders 15–19 km/h, regular commuters 20–25 km/h, fit road cyclists 27–32 km/h. Wind, elevation and stops matter more than fitness on short rides.
Cyclists talk in speed (km/h) because bike computers display it live; runners use minutes-per-km. Same math, inverted.
Only if you enter elapsed time including stops — that gives your overall (moving + stopped) average, which is what Strava calls 'elapsed speed'.
